Bound Volume of a Scrapbook with various letters, certificates, published material, ephemera and other documents. Most of the scrapbook’s content is related John William Dawson.

File consists of Harrington family wills, marriage contracts, deeds of sale, and other legal documents, including the Last Will and Testament of Dame Charlotte widow of the late John Harrington, the marriage contract between William Harrington and Laura Seymour, and various deeds of land sales.

This file consists of a photo album with the insciption, "For Clare from Mama" on the flyleaf. Album contains 46 photographs including portraits of family members, family friends, and a photo of the McGill campus. There are a significant number of photos of Margaret Mercer Dawson, Anna Dawson Harrington, and John William Dawson. The album has thick pages and gilt edges, in the style of cabinet card or carte de visite albums. Includes several photos of drawings of young women.

File consists of large unbound scrapbook of newspaper clippings about education, science, and the life of John William Dawson, predominately from the 1840s through the 1860s. Includes a few sketches and handwritten notes.

File consists of one bound diary containing some narrative entries recounting passages from James Dawson's life, including his immigration and early life in Canada. Other entries are copies of letters or reminiscenes on the occasions of his birthday. Names and birthdates of children written on front pastedown. First entry is dated March 25, 1838, and last entry dated April 19, 1861.
