File consists chiefly of scholarly correspondence and inquiries regarding the Department of Chinese at McGill University. Letters in English and Chinese.
File consists chiefly of course outlines, correspondence with McGill University, other correspondence, and McGill ephemera. Course outlines are for new or adapted courses in Chinese history and literature at McGill. McGill correspondence include some correspondence with principal Sir Arthur Currie regarding Kiang's employment at McGill. Other McGill documents include commencement ephemera (1930, 19330, a report on an M.A. thesis, etc. Other correspondence includes letters from the Library of Congress and the Gest Chinese Research Libray. One course outline contains biographical information on Prof. Kiang.
File consists of final exams for Department of Chinese Studies courses at McGill and during summer session 1931 University of Oregon. Also includes McGill University correspondence, including regarding the creation of a graduate programme in Chinese Studies, correspondence with Sir Arthur Currie regarding travel expenses, and departmental expense appropriations. Also included are a document of information prepared for the press on Kiang and the Department of Chinese Studies, a report by Kiang for the League of Nations, McGill Department of Chinese Studies departmental reports (corrected typed drafts), and a newspaper clipping regarding Kiang's arrest in China.

Kiang's papers cover the few years he was employed by McGill. His teaching materials include course outlines and examinations, as well as examination papers for a course in Oriental philosophy he gave at the University of Oregon Summer School in 1930. The administration of the Department of Chinese Studies is documented by requisitions and invoices for equipment and furniture, correspondence on library purchases, and letters regarding possible posts in the department, the curriculum, Kiang's salary and appointment, the Gest Chinese Library and general administrative matters. Kiang's personal files concern his work with the Hung Tao Society, his collaboration with Witter Bynmer, current events in China, and Kiang's publications and speaking engagements.
