Letters are addressed to William Rae, Andrew Elliot, W. Welch, C. Horatio Gates, and F.C. Gilmour. All letters were written from Hall's home, Mount Tranquil, in Montreal.

Brethoun in included on the verso, asking him to speak to the men squatting on the Hall land about purchasing it. Vennor identifies the men as "Anderson, or Henderson, Peter Wetch, James McCracken, Samuel Dell."
