A page from a letterbook in Benjamin Hall's hand with copies of his business correspondence, including letters dated the 12, 16, and 23 February 1858 and 1 and 5 March 1858. Letters are addressed to William Rae, Andrew Elliot, W. Welch, C. Horatio Gates, and F.C. Gilmour. All letters were written from Hall's home, Mount Tranquil, in Montreal.

Letter from Edward Vennor to Hugh McConvill, 12 March 1857

Letter from Edward Vennor to Hugh McConvill, offering him the opportunity to purchase the remaining 1/3 of the lot that he doesn't yet own. A copy of a letter from Edward Vennor to Rev. W. Brethoun in included on the verso, asking him to speak to the men squatting on the Hall land about purchasing it. Vennor identifies the men as "Anderson, or Henderson, Peter Wetch, James McCracken, Samuel Dell."
