Dante Gabriel Rossetti; b. 12 May 1828, London, d. 9 April 1882, Birchington-on-Sea, England; English poet, illustrator, painter and translator; son of Gabriele Rossetti and Frances Polidori, brother of Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Christina Rossetti; cofounder of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.
Pencil notes by William Osler, on back pastedown; manuscript note of W. W. Francis on flyleaf.
Inscription by W.W.F., commenting on Osler’s notes at back of book: “the pencil writes of prices… in Osler’s hand… $20 in 1899… $40 in 1900…”
