              Letter to Harvey Cushing from Marion Emmons, Hamble, Southampton, England. Emmons recalls the stories Osler told her of his boyhood. Osler and three other boys went to court and spent four days in prison after playing a prank on their school's Matron. After masterminding another prank, she believes Osler was expelled from the school. She suggests that Cushing consult Edward Milburn for more details.

              Letter to Katharine Stone Crowell Cushing from Susan Revere Chapin, The Copse, Hamble, Southampton, England. Chapin writes of Revere's death, of the comfort it has brought his grieving parents to know that Cushing was by his side when he died. She writes that Osler seems to be shrinking away and that Grace's face is sad beyond words. Chapin worries that she has been a burden to Grace, and hopes to join the war-effort in France.

Lady Osler writes of Dr. and Mrs. Hertz, he is a young neurologist of London who Osler is interested in. Dr. Welch has arrived in England. Lady Osler reports on Revere's activities. She mentions Marion, cousin Etta, and the death of Ralph Sherman's brother. She would love for Chapin to come, but worries about the voyage.
