        General note

        A design proposal for the development of an urban complex on approximately 14 acres of land at the crossing of Drigh Road and Jinnah Hospital Road, including a proposed office, commercial and residential complex. The project required physical and socio-economic surveys and involved the preparation of two concept proposals that showed land-use and zoning, roads and parking spaces, open spaces, buildings character and height and the project's phasing. This massive complex, also called "The City Centre, Karachi would be the first integrated development in Karachi. The principle difference between the schemes stems from the solution of the vehicular movement pattern. The programme requirements included the following: 880000 square feet of office space 216000 square feet of retail shopping a 250 room hotel convention facilities for 2000 people 300 2 and 3 bedroom units and parking for 1500 cars. In addition to these requirements one of the proposals provided a city PIA Terminal two cinemas and a 300 seat theatre.
