    Biographical history

    David Leslie Philip was born in Vankleek Hill, Canada East. As a student, he was listed as coming from Brantford, Canada East. He graduated in medicine from McGill in 1861. He was one of the best-known practitioners in the province of Ontario, but owing to a stroke of paralysis, he did not practice for the last two years of his life. (Canada Lancet, v. 38, p. 1128, 1905).

    Purchased at Montreal Book Auctions Ltd., sale 112, lot 181, 12 October 1978. Part of old accession number 612.

    Scope and content

    Fonds documents D.L. Philip's studies of the Institutes of Medicine, 1857-1858, with Dr. William Fraser. The fonds contains one notebook with loose notes.
