Exterior view photograph. International Broadcasting Centre exterior (lot A-207). The four storey International Broadcasting Centre was to be a permanent structure housing the Canadian Broadcasting Centre. Linked to Place' d'Accueil by bridge, it provided radio and television facilities for all of Expo's participants broadcasting around the world. It also featured an exhibition area for visitors as well as galleries and guided tours. Clever design strategies such as low lighting and tinted glass allowed visitors to be taken through the inner working of the studios without disrupting activity. Rectalinear volume. Structural steel with precast, exposed concrete. (S: 304' x 200' --- A: 88,000 sq. ft. --- H: 60')
