Biographical history
Janet Simpson Eckford McCrae was the daughter of former Presbyterian minister John Eckford of Guelph, Ontario. She and her husband, David McCrae, had three children, Geills, John, and Thomas.

Collection consists of handwritten letter attributed to Lt. Col. John McCrae's mother, Janet Simpson Eckford McCrae. Letter is postmarked 28 February 1918 and sent from Guelph, Ontario, to Miss Janet Gow in Windsor, Ontario. Letter discusses the illness, death, and funeral of John McCrae. Collection also includes a letter transcription and information about the family compiled by donor.
