Hon. Edward George Percy Littleton, 3rd Baron Hatherton, was born on August 15, 1842, in Richmond, Surrey, England.

In 1861, he entered the army and was in Canada with the Brigade of Guards (Jan. 1862-Sept. 1864). He served as a Justice of the Peace and Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Staffordshire. He was also a Superintendent of the Military Gymnasia in London, England, an Instructor of Musketry to 2nd Battery Grenadier Guards, and Regimental Adjutant to the Grenadier Guards. In 1875, he was appointed Military Secretary to the Earl of Dufferin, Governor-General of Canada. He was awarded Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.).

In 1867, he married Charlotte Louisa Rowley (1844–1923). He died on August 24, 1930, in Cannock, Staffordshire, England.

Dr. Herbert Melville Little was born in London, Ontario, December 11, 1877. He was a distinguished obstetrician-gynecologist. He was a founding member of the American Gynecological Society, and was instrumental in founding the Women's Pavillion of the Royal Victoria Hospital. He died in Middlesex, Ontario, October 11, 1934.

Born in London, Ontario, Harold Robert Little graduated with a B.Sc. Degree in architecture from McGill University in 1910.
He moved to Calgary where he was engaged in large-scale construction work, then returned to Montreal to take charge of the Architectural Department of the Merchants Bank of Canada head office. In 1922 the bank was absorbed by the Bank of Montreal and Harold Lawson invited him to form a new partnership. During the next 25 years, they obtained major commissions for commercial, industrial, residential and institutional works in Montreal and southern Quebec.
Mr. Little held the position of Lecturer on Building Construction at the School of Architecture at McGill University and in 1935 submitted an entry under his own name in the competition for a new gymnasium, pool and outdoor stadium, on Pine Avenue, McGill University, for which he received the Third Prize.

Little, Brown and Company, Boston; estab. 1837 when Charles C. Little and James Brown formed co-partnership under name: Charles C. Little and Company; for a short time thereafter known as Little and Brown; name changed to Little, Brown and Company in 1847; publishers; Mass.; in 1898 another publisher, Roberts Brothers (Boston) merged into Little, Brown.
