Jacob Hall was a hat maker and merchant born who lived in Montreal. He was born in Andover, Massachusetts, on 20 August 1777 to William Hall and Christina Barbara Juncken Hall. He moved to Montreal in approximately 1797. He married Rebecca Ferguson on 1 November 1811, and they had three children together, Archibald, Jacob, and Rebecca Christina (who died during childhood). Jacob died on 27 April 1819.

John Smythe Hall graduated from McGill with a B.A. (1874)and a B.C.L. (1875). For a time he was a partner in the law firm of Sir Adolphe Chapleau, premier, federal minister and later Lt.-Governor of Québec. Hall was counsel for the Québec government, and was elected as Conservative M.N.A. in 1892 and in 1897. He held the position of Provincial Treasurer from 1892 until 1894. Hall retained close ties with McGill University, serving as the president of both the McGill University Society and of the Graduates' Society, and as a member of Corporation. He passed away in 1909

John Hall was a tanner, baker, and farmer who lived in Montreal. He was born on 10 February 1771 in Andover, Massachusetts, to William Hall and Christina Barbara Juncken Hall. John worked as a tanner in Hanover until moving to Montreal in approximately 1800. There, he worked as a farmer and then as a baker. He also joined a Masonic lodge in Montreal. He married Charlotte Morrison, daughter of the merchant James Morrison, on 15 February 1807. They had two daughters who survived to adulthood, Charlotte and Harriet Ann. John's wife Charlotte died on 22 September 1818, and John died on 15 July 1822. After their deaths, John's daughters were raised by his brother, Benjamin Hall.

Joseph Hall was born in Andover, Massachusetts to William Hall and Christina Barbara Juncken Hall. He moved to Montreal in approximately 1797, and became a businessman there. He also joined the Union 8 Masonic Lodge. Joseph's first wife, Susannah, died in childbirth in 1799, as did the infant, Julia. They had one other daughter together named Amelia. Joseph remarried to Nancy Kneeland on 16 August 1804 in Andover. Together they had several children: Alice Julia, George, Jacob, and Julia Ann. Joseph died in 1834.
