Founded in 1994, Cuisine Canada, the Canadian Culinary Alliance, by Anita Stewart, Elizabeth Baird, Jurgen Gothe, and others, was a cross-Canadian alliance of food professionals. The organization was registered as a corporation in 1995 and dissolved in 2016.
Walter William Davis Cumming was born on August 11, 1858, in Bombay, India.
He was a British bird collector and a telegraphist in Fao, Iran, from 1876 to 1896. During this time, he sent several bird collections to R. Bowdler Sharpe and reptiles to George Albert Boulenger at the British Museum. He also served as the Curator of the McMahon Museum in Quetta, Pakistan. He studied birds in detail; some species are named in his honour, such as Saxicola cummingi Whitaker, 1899.
In 1889, he married Lilian Grace Berry. He died on March 2, 1924, in Quetta, Pakistan.
