Kinnicutt and others would like to send Ives to the Johns Hopkins, hoping the hospital will be a good influence on him. Osler does not believe that the hospital is equipped to deal with such a case, but he is willing to take Ives on as an act of courtesy. Osler asks Hurd if there could be a room made available for Ives on the following day.
