Exterior view photograph. Vermont Pavilion exterior (lot B-326). The two storey Vermont Pavilion was built with materials native to Vermont. The bold slopes of the pavilion roofs represented the mountains characteristic of the Vermont landscape. The pavilion was fronted by an entrance ramp leading to the second floor exhibit area. A "Hall of History" told the story of Vermont's close relationship with Canada. Also featured was the live sculpting of a 12' bust of explorer Samuel de Champlain; founder of the 136 mile lake. The theatre section of the pavilion featured a color show entitled "The Beckoning Country" which put viewers into the exciting world of Vermont climate, landscape and hospitality. Located at the exit was a tourist information office with bilingual Vermonters. Two triangular volumes on a rectangular plan. Laminated B.C. fir with Vermont Pine barn boarding. (S: 85' x 92' --- A: 6,770 sq. ft. --- H: 68')
