Hyman Martin Tolchinsky was born on October 5, 1929, in Montreal, Quebec. He studied architecture at McGill University (B.Arch. ’52). His Montreal architectural firm Tolchinsky and Goodz designed several major commercial buildings such as the Industrial Life Tower (1986), Place Canada Trust Tower (1989), and the Maison Ultramar Building (1989).
