James Scott was born in 1815 in Gospenth, Northumberland, England. The 1851 England Census lists his occupation as Colliery Viewer. He came to Canada, and was the manager of the Albion Mines in Stellarton, Nova Scotia. He died March 11, 1865, in Nova Scotia.
