History

Dr. Powles was born in Japan and received his early education there privately. Subsequently he moved to Montreal and continued his education there. He received a B.A. degree from McGill in 1940 followed by a M.D.C.M., also from McGill, in December of 1943. From 1944 to 1946 he served in the Canadian Army Medical Corp. In 1952 he completed his diploma in Medicine. By 1990 he held the position of Professor Emeritus in Psychiatry at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario.
