History

Richard Paden was born on October 15, 1850, in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.

He was a museum curator, librarian, and lecturer. For some time, he was in charge of the Library and Museum at Hereford and was also engaged in the work of the Public Libraries at Birmingham. He came to the Museum and Gallery of Arts, Liverpool, in 1876 as its assistant curator and later curator, remaining in this position until his death.

In 1873, he married Louisa Clara Waring (1850-1925). He died on November 19, 1894, in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.
