Exterior view photograph. European Communities Pavilion exterior (lot C-451). The three level European Communities Pavilion was reminiscent of a multi faceted diamond. This imagery was very fitting as the pavilion represented the six nations participating in the European Common Market (an endeavor that sought to maximize on interrelated economies). The Common Market concept was explained througout the pavilion in an exhibition themed "Six Countries Decide to Live Together". Mission statements, contemporary art, and famous Europeans were all celebrated within the exhibition areas. The lower level featured a food tasting bar. Elongated hexagonal structure with diamond form roof. Structural steel. Anodized extruded aluminum curtain wall with solar grey, polished plate glass.
