Rev. Alexander N. McQuarrie was born on January 12, 1841, in Nova Scotia, Canada.

He was a Presbyterian clergyman. He graduated from Queen’s University in 1863 (B.A.) and went to Quebec, where for a few years, he was a successful professor in Morrin and St. Andrew’s Colleges. Then he went to Washington, D. C., and taught there for several years. Last fifteen years, he was a minister in Manitoba.

He died on December 1, 1909, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
