Leighton & Gilbert was a real estate company run by Henry Leighton and Orville N. Gilbert. Headquartered in the Grain Exchange in Calgary, they advertised available farmland for sale in Alberta, near Edmonton and Calgary (especially in the Rosebud Valley). They were official agents of the Canadian Pacific Irrigation Colonization Co. - a subsidiary of the Canadian Pacific Railway responsible for improving and selling lands surrounding the railway.
