Paul Lackschewitz was a Latvian physician, botanist, and entomologist. He is best known for his scientific work on true flies (Diptera) and willows (Salix) in the Baltic region. His standard botanical author abbreviation is "Laksch." He worked primarily as a medical doctor while pursuing extensive research in natural history. Lackschewitz studied regional insect fauna, particularly crane flies and other Diptera, as well as plant life in Estonia and Latvia.
