History
Emily Maud Knobel was a prominent British ornithologist and aviculturist who became one of the world's leading experts on the care, morphology, and identification of captive parrots. She is particularly remembered for her foundational work with South American Amazon parrots and her historic leadership roles within the Avicultural Society. Miss Knobel dedicated her 96-year life to studying bird plumage, avian identification, and improving husbandry practices for captive birds. She famously introduced the first lutino caique parrot mutation to the United Kingdom shortly after World War II.
