Letter to James Bovell (Jimmie) Johnson from W.A. Johnson, "The Parsonage", Weston, Ontario, Canada. Johnson has just heard of Mrs. Howard Bovell's death. He urges Jimmie to spend Christmas at Weston, and hopes that Osler will also come. He asks Jimmie to bring him specimens for his microscope. He suggest that Jimmie read "Handbook for the Physiological Laboratory" by Brunton Foster, Klein, and Sanderson. Osler showed him this book when he returned to Dundas from England.

On Flexner's request, von du Osten sends a reprint of Dr. M.C. Hall's "Two new genera of nematodes," which contains references to the organisms named after Osler. [See CUS417/73.1]

Letter to Francis John Shepherd from William Osler, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Osler writes to inform Shepherd that at the recent meeting of the Faculty of Medicine of McGill, Shepherd was appointed Demonstrator of Anatomy. Osler recommends some courses in London and Vienna that Shepherd should attend before his appointment in August. He suggests that Shepherd take a course on the Microscope with Klein at the Brown Institute. Dr. Campbell has resigned as the chair of Surgery at McGill, but remains as Dean of the Faculty. Fenwick has succeeded Campbell, and Roddick has been appointed to Chemical Surgery.

Letter to Ellen Osler from Jennette Osler, 47, Durocher Street, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Jennette describes her Christmas at Marian Francis', with Osler and the children. On Christmas day, Osler took the pony out and drove down to see Dr. Howard and Dr. Browne. Osler attended a party at the Kenneth Campbells and was invited back for New Years.
