The fonds consists of John Percival Day's papers, specifically a notebook of course lectures for International Trade and at the back of the book, Additional Charters on Money and Banking in the USA. In between the two lectures is a lecture for the Graduate Studies Course B on World Economic Survey since 1919. In addition there are loose papers which amount to a bibliography of books and periodicals by John Percival Day, a poem "Owed to John Percival Day" written by presumably W.D. Woodhead, a list of names, a list referring to numbers, a blank form from the University Club of Montreal Dec. 1 1938, and a sheet of graph paper with lines drawn in pencil and ink.

The fonds is divided into two series: the first contains lecture notes and coursework from his studies. The second contains professional papers and is divided into two subseries. The first subseries contains records relating to his activities at the University of Alberta. The second subseries contains records generated during his time at McGill University.

The fonds consists of a small black three-ringed binder composed of five sections (Quotations, Humor, Nonsense, Political, Information) which contain handwritten and typewritten quotations of prose and poetry (notably Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Yeats, among others), and news clippings of articles, cartoons and art, intermingled together on the pages. The last section, Information, contains lists of Latin, words and definitions and signs of the zodiac to name a few.

The articles are titled, in order, Historical, Administration, School Funds, The Training of Teachers, Rural Schools, The Jewish Problem, Compulsory School Attendance.

Lockhart and mostly comprises lectures on topics in teaching, such as "Organization and Planning of Instruction", and 7 chapters of what appears to be an instructional book (chapters 1, 2, 5, 10, 12, 13, 14). In addition, there are examples of time tables for four classes, a checklist for school duties, and an example of a program for an 8 grade school titled "Department of Rural Education" from Teachers College, Columbia University.

The fonds consists of two letters from James Mills to Principal Sir Arthur Currie dated July 31 and August 5 1922. Both letters refer to the appointment of a principal to Macdonald College and the July letter has a typed copy with lines underlined in red ink. Included is a note from Currie to E.W . Beatty stating that a copy of the Mills letter was enclosed.
