Research (experiment) notebooks.

Sub-series A-2 contains experiment notebooks from the Graduate School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, concerning the measurement of peroxidase activity of animal tissues, the activity of the “succinoxidase system” and the effects of redox indicator dyes on metabolism. Includes experiments related to the aerobic and anaerobic metabolism of glucose, lactate, pyruvate and succinate by slices of tumor tissues using manometric, analytical and isolation procedures. This sub-series comprises 29 files (files nos. 5 to 33), which are arranged chronologically.

Montreal Neurological Institute

This subseries contains materials related to the history of the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI), the Neuro History Project, conferences and workshops held at the MNI, and publications on the history of the MNI that Feindel was writing.

General correspondence.

Sub-series D-2 contains correspondence of Dr. Elliott relating to various topics. Of special importance is the correspondence with Baxter Laboratories concerning “Elliott’s B solution”. This sub-series includes a portion of Dr. Elliott’s lecture notes for courses taught on Biochemistry. This sub-series also includes some files relating to Dr. Elliott’s “Unorthodox Career”. This sub-series is comprised of 22 files (nos. 134 to 145).

Commercial Trust Co.

This subseries contains records related to J.W. McConnell’s involvement in the Commerical Trust Co., between roughly 1936 and 1972.

Material found in this subseries includes income tax and financial statements of trusts, memos and correspondence regarding taxation (interleaved with tax statements), ledgers, and minutes of the executives and minutes of the investment committee (from roughly 1939-1971).

General Correspondence

Sub-series A-3 contains general correspondence with various people. General alphabetical breakdown into three (3) groupings spanning the years 1938-1973 (A-H, I-Q, and R-Z), and chronological breakdown for year 1929-1937 (1929-1932, 1933-1935, and 1936-1937). This sub-series is comprised of 6 files (files no. 100 to 105).

Deceased patient records consulted between 1939 and 1969

Consists of the records of deceased patients who were consulted between 1939 and 1969 (files marked with "deceased patient" code B-99). Also contains files concerning meetings in Fredericton in the 1950s, Blue Cross files and medical records concerning Dolly Segall as well as a file relating to Dolly Segall's 70th birthday (Box 320)

Publications and writings

Subseries C consists of copies of publications that Harold Spence-Sales authored independently and publications that he co-authored with John Bland.
