McGill Shakespeare Medal, 1864

This item is a McGill medal commemorating the tercentenary of William Shakespeare's birth. One side of the medal has a an image of Shakespeare in profile with the words "Shakspere [sic], 1564-1616." The other side bears a McGill coat of arms and "Shakspere [sic] Tercentenary, 1864, for English literature" inside a decorative cross, with "McGill College, Montreal" in a ring around the edge of the medal.

Centennial of Women at McGill medal

This item is a silver medal celebrating the centennial of women studying at McGill. The medal depicts a woman in a graduation robe, holding a diploma and a book, standing in front of the McGill Arts building.
