Series Ledgers, Account Books, and Notes consist of financial record books of various Papineau-owned or affiliated corporations from 1848 to 1882.

Series consists of letterbooks containing copies of letters to family members, on subjects including books, science, family history, and the local (Liverpool) government. There are also letters to the editor of the Pharmaceutical Journal, on the subject of chloroform, and to editors of the Manchester Guardian and The Times newspapers, on subjects including decimal coinage and local cholera deaths.

The series consists of documents and letters relating to a duel between Vane and MacDougall.

This series consists of research, writing, and correspondence files relating to Casey Wood's major and minor publications and unpublished works, as well as, others assisting in Wood's publications, research, or writing about Wood. The majority of the research and writing materials for Wood's published and unpublished works were created between 1920-1940, while other materials collected during Wood's life, those associated with his memoir and obituary, date from approximately 1850-1943.
Some prominent writings by Wood include “Introduction to the Literature of Vertebrate Zoology” (1921-1956), his unpublished memoir (ca. 1850-1939), “Fundus Oculi” (1911-1934), Wood family history (1920-1940), “Birds of Fiji” (1920-1928), “Through Forest and Jungle in Kashmir and North India” (1921-1934); Persian, Arabic and Hindustani manuscripts (1927-1934); and “The Art of Falconry” (1942).
The series consists of many volumes and files containing a number of record types including manuscripts, typescripts, proofs, publications, photographs, correspondence, clippings, printed material, postcards, journals, administrative and financial records, and artwork. Some of the volumes are scrapbooks containing many of these materials mounted within, while others include similar materials bound within. These volumes do not necessarily have a clear organization but are sometimes arranged chronologically or by correspondent.

There are 2230 incoming and outgoing pieces of correspondence including letters, postcards, notes, telegrams, and cards. Subseries 1) Introduction to the Literature of Vertebrate Zoology includes 1313 pieces of correspondence, the largest number of correspondence within the collection.

Series consists of chiefly of notebooks of transcriptions of letters from Henry James and Edel's notes, based on thousands of James letters that Edel located and consulted during many decades of research. Bulk of transcriptions are from letters dating between 1865 and 1916. Also contains some copies of letters James family correspondence and copies of letters from James Russell Lowell to James.

The administrative records series contains documents that reflect the structure and mandate of the Society, such as their constitution, acts, by-laws, yearly agenda, bookings, and membership lists. Summaries of meetings provide information of the NHSM’s interactions with other societies, notably the Horticultural Society, and also includes correspondence with society members, lists of addresses. An obituary of Society Librarian Charles Robb and an example of a membership certificate belonging to J. H. Joseph may also be found.

The series consists of a cutting of Robert Abraham’s obituary, taken from the Montreal Transcript.

This series contains book lists and catalogs which document Mappin’s personal antiquarian book collection. Also includes files about Canadian authors’ deposits and archival fonds at Library and Archives Canada. Includes professional correspondence with other antiquarian books sellers, and documents the contents of their personal or donated collections. Contains machine typed personal index cards containing entries for authors, events, printings, etc. File #1210.02.06.05 contains the cover for The Goblin : a Brief History of Canada's Humour Magazine of the 1920s written by John Mappin and Carl Spadoni however the contents are missing.

This series contains published material written by members of the Buxton family or related to Noel Noel-Buxton's interests between approximately 1860-1932.
