Brief history of the Fellowship of Medicine and Post-Graduate Medical Association. The Fellowship of Medicine, founded in 1918, owes its existence to Sir Arbuthnot Lane, Sir John MacAlister, and others from the Royal Society of Medicine. It was first known as the Inter-Allied Fellowship of Medicine. Osler became president of the Fellowship in 1919.
