News from Thayer. They are busy, and they are trying to keep track of the many friends they have, Canadians and Americans, who are in France or England. Mentions the American in the Orthopaedic department. Erving has just gone back. Good comments on his Father's work. Welch must be pleased to have him back. Thanks for his work of sympathy. Explains that Revere and he were remarkably close to each other.

MacAlister, the Principal of Glasgow University had favourable comments on Malloch's book. Asks him if he heard anything about the Occupation paper. They are much disturbed in England by the news. Optimistic opinion about the issue of the war. Mentions his work in his catalogue. His is picking out a lot of Revere's books for him and W.W. Francis. Asks him to ask Phoebe if she will please be married from the "open arms". Mentions that Sir John looks a bit grey and not cordial.

Letter to Thomas Archibald Malloch from William Osler, The Victoria Hotel, Sidmouth, Devon, England. Sorry to hear that W.W. Francis is laid up. They have been very busy, same rush at the house. Mentions Ronald Ross. Shall be glad for a change and rest. They finished the anaesthesia section. Very satisfied of it. They intend to keep Revere's books together and very general literature books will go with them. Will talk to him and W.W. Francis about the plans later. MacAlister has sent him two bundles of reprints. Will keep the duplicates for him. MacAlister was very interested in his catalogue. He has to do lot of reading for the Presidential address as President of the Classical Association. Comments about it. Will talk on "the classical Tradition in Science." He is deep in a Postgraduate scheme and is chairman of the committee of the London Schools.
