Marian Francis gave birth to another child. He describes Christmas dinner at the Howards'. Osler has returned home [to Dundas?] for Christmas. Cantlie wishes Osler would marry a wealthy woman. He relates news of friends and of Montreal.

Letter to Edward A. Sharpey Schäfer from William Osler, McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Osler has sent Schäfer a barrel of apples. He hopes Schäfer will join the B.A.A.S. excursion next August and will agree to stay with Osler. He will likely be in Europe next summer.

Letter to Henry Vining Ogden from Jennette Osler, 66, McGill College Avenue, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Jennette reports on Marian Francis' poor health and children, who are staying with the Moslons at Lake Mephremagog. Osler is well and is heading to Bay Como to visit with the Shepherds. She mentions Mr. Cantl[ie].

She delivers news of McGill and its progress. She mentions Jared Howard, Mr. Cantlie, Dr. Buller and Dr. Rogers. She relates news of her children. Osler will go to Europe for six months to study. A young doctor, McLure, was living with Osler at 80, Union Avenue, but suddenly gave up on his study of medicine.

Letter to Henry Vining Ogden from Frank Buller, 694, Dorchester Street, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Buller writes of his new home and his new bride. He is worried for Mr. Cantlie, who moved to Chicago. Buller has not heard from Osler since he went to Germany.

Letter from Robert Palmer Howard, 9, Beaver Hall Hill, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Letter of introduction for Osler. Osler acted as Howard's dresser and clinical clerk for three months at the Montreal General Hospital.

Letter to Harvey Cushing from Thomas Archibald(?) Malloch, 52, Westmount Boulevard, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Malloch(?) responds to Cushing's request for information on Osler's life in Montreal and the "footing dinner." He quotes Dr. Shepherd's description of the dinners and hopes to get further information from Dr. Roddick.
