Fonds consists chiefly of the literary papers of Canadian poet Artie Gold as well as some personal and professional correspondence. Many of his drawings are also included. Within the literary materials it contains poems and poem fragments, notebooks, manuscripts, proofs, and publications. The correspondence included is predominantly personal, many with other Canadian poems and literary figures, as well as some professional correspondence related to publication, poetry readings, grants, etc. There are some files of biographical material as well.

The fonds consists mainly of a bound notebook that Mussen kept with notes on his experimental investigations. Includes mounted photographs of brain specimens and animal subjects. Fonds also contains loose manuscript notes and two overhead projector transparencies.

Austin (Dink) Carroll Fonds

The fonds consists mainly of incoming correspondence, manuscript stories and articles by Austin (Dink) Carroll, mostly unpublished fiction, and drafts of articles for the sports column in the Gazette. The correspondence is from friends, family, various figures in the sports world, including Montreal hockey and baseball players, and readers of his column. The manuscripts include two novels and more than 20 short stories written in sports settings, 1930 to 1960. There is a small amount of other materials including newspaper clippings by other sport writers mainly about hockey, photographs, tapes of radio interviews, autographed programmes, notes for articles and publications, a lighter, one metal name plate, one metal press badge for golf tournament in 1971 and one metal plate of the Hamilton Tiger - Cats. Of special interest are approximately 30 letters from Morley Callaghan to Dink Carroll and/or his wife Margaret (Peg) Carroll from 1935 to the 1980's. The letters are addressed variously to Dink Carroll or to both Dink and Peg Carroll. The content covers sports, literary anecdotes and publishing activities, and the activities of mutual acquaintances. They contain observations on Morley Callaghan's writing and working habits as well.

Consists of a notebook Robson kept as a student at the Banting Research Institute at the University of Toronto from June to September, 1930. The notebook comprises over 60 manuscript pages, plus 31 manuscript pages attached to the end, 1 loose leaf of manuscript medical notes, approximately 50 ink drawings of various sizes of experiments, 26 black and white photographs pasted in, including a photograph of Sir Frederick Grant Banting in his office, the Banting Research Institute and its faculty, and experiment apparatuses. Also includes 13 mimeographed pages (pasted in) containing 12 different experiments, the printed programme for the formal opening of the Banting Institute on 16 September 1930, and 9 newspaper clippings pasted in related to the opening of the Institute.

William Badgley's papers form the bulk of the family's papers and consist of a book of legal notes and judgments, 1801-1826; legal commissions, 1823-1866; as well as circulars, petitions and correspondence for the Constitutional Association, 1834-1839. Other papers include family correspondence, 1823-1829, and deeds of sale, 1831-1852, of James Thompson Badgley.

In series C, of particular interest are the first and second journal of Simon Fraser, 1806, 1808; the voyages of the ship Columbia, 1787-1789; and the journal of John Work, Chief Factor, Hudson’s Bay Company, Astoria, 1824-1834.
