Letter to Casey Albert Wood from William Osler, From the Regius Professor of Medicine, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. Thanks for his photograph of him. Their edition of Helmholtz's life had to be curtailed from the German to bring it into a single volume. All students and young doctors should read the lives of Pasteur and Helmholtz. Glad to see the notice of Wood's ophthalmic library in the report of the librarian of McGill. Mentions that his library will finally be housed in Montreal. Gives the two lines of his collection : books that are of historical importance in the evolution of medicine, and books that have interest through the character or work of their authors. Invitation. Sends him a photograph. News of Revere. Mention of their holiday in Scotland in August. Civilities. P.S. Delighted with Allport's report.
Osler, William, Sir, 1849-1919
