File consists of 7 bound volumes containing typescript transcripts of speeches given by Jean Drapeau during his first term as mayor, mostly with accompanying English translations. Contains some manuscript corrections in pencil. Examples of subjects covered include civil international aviation, communism, public morality, obscenity in publications, economic growth, Israeli independence, Canadian unity, democracy, and civic spirit.

Montréal '64 lettres de félicitations

Consists of bound volume of photocopied congratulatory letters to Drapeau for the city's launch of Montreal 64 (Revue Montreal, a periodical published from 1964-1968, designed primarily to promote the city internationally). Letters date from 28 May 1964 to 1 February 1965.

First anniversary of the Civic Party of Montreal

File consists of 2 brown photograph albums featuring photographs from a celebration of the first-year anniversary of Jean Drapeau's Civic Party of Montreal, founded in 1960. Photographs mounted in onto page frames. First volume contains 34 photographs; second volume contains 11 duplicate photograph in album with an 1 photo additional laid in at back of second volume, stamped on verso: Real Massicotte.

Expo 67 photograph album

Consists of full brown leather bound photograph album of Expo 67 groundbreaking ceremony, held in 1963 at the Expo site. Photographs depict soldiers marching, rifleman, dancers in traditional costume, and religious leaders and dignitaries including Quebec Minister Jean Lesage and Cardinal Paul-Émile Léger.

Le Gabon, Expo 67

File consists of album of photographs of the Gabon Pavilion at Expo 67 and visiting dignitaries. Album is green with decorative plastic title square mounted on front: Le Gabon, Expo 67. With photograph captions, hand-drawn coloured charcoal and marker images on first page as well as inlaid decorative plastic tile. Also included is a copy of a Le Devoir article on Gabon dated 27 October 1967, volume lviii, number 248, tipped in on last page; additional leaf with four colour photographs laid in at end.

Terre des Hommes 1976

Consists of white bound photograph album with silver-tooled designs on cover. Album contains 63 photographs of pavilions, traditional dancers, and other scenes from Terre des Hommes, an exhibition that was the prolongation of Expo 67 and ran from 1968 until 1981.

Photograph albums of the construction of the Olympic Complex

Consists of 2 red binders of photographs of the construction of the Olympic Complex in Montreal. Cover has an image of the Olympic stadium in white and features title: COJO 76. Photographs include aerial views, mock-ups, and construction progress photos. Photographs are organized primarily with tabs by part of the complex and have bilingual captions. Volume 1 contains: Olympic Pool; Olympic Velodrome; Olympic Village; Claude Robillard Centre; Étienne Desmarteau; Olympic Basin. Volume 2 contains: Mock ups; Olympic Park; Olympic Stadium.

File consists of 11 published books from Jean Drapeau's personal library. Nine are presentation copies given to him during his tenure as mayor, some custom bound. Two are working copies from his library that contain his annotations and underlining.

Album Terre des Hommes 1976, Pavillon de la Tchécoslovaquie

The album is comprised of 16 boards in a ring binder containing 19 large black and white photographs and 9 smaller colour photographs taken outside of the Czechoslovak Pavilion during the 1976 season of the exposition, Man and His World (Terre des Hommes). The 19 photographs are professional productions, depicting exterior and interior views of the pavilion; one is a portrait showing Montreal mayor Jean Drapeau shaking hands with another man; and one is a portrait of a pair of dancers in traditional costume. Most of the 9 colour photographs depict a performance by costumed dancers. The album also contains some 1976 Olympics memorabilia, including a red pennant from the 1976 Olympics and six illustrated pages apparently taken from a pamphlet titled "Czechoslovakia : the land of Olympic medals /Tchécoslovaquie : pays des médailles Olympiques." An image of a woman in traditional dress holding a tray containing the customary Slavic welcome greeting of bread and salt represents International Women's Year (1975), featuring the IWY emblem, a stylized dove with a female symbol and an equal sign.

Collection consists of photograph albums and publications from Jean Drapeau's library related to significant events that occurred during his mandates as mayor of Montreal (1954 to 1957 and 1960 to 1986). Photograph albums, brochures, and publications represent Expo 67 and its reiteration, Man and his World (Terre des Hommes), which ran from 1968 to 1986. The 1976 Montreal Olympic Games are documented in programmes and photograph albums. The collection also includes records of Drapeau's political life, including transcripts of his speeches from 1955-1957, photograph albums related to his municipal political party, the Civic Party of Montreal (Parti civique de Montréal), and presentation copies of books.
