Part of Joseph Crawhall Collection
File includes clippings originally inserted into the album containing the manuscript of Two Newcastle Apprentices. Clippings are from The Oeconomist : or, Englishman's Magazine (1798) and book sale catalogues, and unidentified newspapers. Several clippings relate to the Newcastle races (1774, 1785, 1804, 1793, 1795). One item is a pamphlet of resolutions from the Committee of the Newcastle upon Tyne Society for Promoting the Gradual Abolition of Slavery throughout the British Dominions (1824). Also included is handwritten document with an envelope, dated 1868; envelope with note: "Mr. Woodman's notes on Clennell" (Bewick's pupil Luke Clennell).
