The Convict. Maple Bank

Interesting and informative description at the back of the Convict Guard at the garrison of Woolwich, England and the prisoners that were received there and put to work at the Arsenal producing armaments. It was in 1825 when in command of the Convict Guard and witnessed the cruel treatment of these erring children of Adam that I chose "The Convict" as Text for the Muse.
