Will send him shortly his scheme of his catalogue under the section Anaesthesia. Still lacks three items of primary importance : Morton's original papers and the Boston Medical and Surgery Journal for 46-47. Goodspeed says they can be found.

Compliments on an extract (of an interview of C.H. Parker in the Harvard Bulletin). It will go in his B. Franklin's edition of the "de Senectute" which was given to him on a New York dinner mentioned in the extract. They do not wish peace except on their own terms: Reparation, Restitution and Security. Mentions their anxiety for Revere who is with his battery in France. Details about him. Details on his Anaesthesia collection. He bought the original Simpson pamphlets and vol. IV of 8th edition of the Britannica Encyclopedia to cut out Simpson's chloroform article. Offers his help for the anesthetic collection at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Mentions that he would like to have the Boston Medical and Surgical Journal for 1846. Would like Mrs. Myers to send a duplicate of it. He also wants Bigelow's paper on Simpson. Has written to Sturgis B. about it. Civilities.

Repeats his request for the volume 35 of the Boston Medical and Surgical Journal. All goes well. They have Americans almost everyday. Mentions Jason Mixter, Boggs, Halsey, and Crile. Civilities.

Mentions that Macalister has written a life of Macartney. Good comments on John Curtis' book on Harvey. It is a direct outcome of John C. Dutton's influence on Curtis. Asks him to tell George and Frederick Shattuck to read Curtis' book. All goes well. Revere is leaving the McGill Unit, will join the Imperial service, probably the Royal Field artillery. Induces him to encourage Streeter. Mentions that he is abed with the influenza. Civilities. P.S. Asks him to send the Memoir of the Warrens.
