        Dr. Rutgerus "Rutger" Horst was a prominent Dutch zoologist and naturalist who specialized as a world authority on Polychaeta (marine bristle worms) and Onychophora (velvet worms). For much of his career, he served as the curator of invertebrates at the Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie (now part of Naturalis Biodiversity Center) in Leiden, Netherlands.
