        History

        Rev. Dr. Clarence Hodge served as Financial Secretary of Ewing College, a historic Baptist institution located in Ewing, Illinois, during the 1910s. The college, which operated from 1867 until 1925, was an important educational center in southern Illinois. Hodge is also known as the author of New Ewing, a concise local history published in 1918 by The Egyptian Press of Marion, Illinois.
