        John Dumble Hayden was born in 1860 in Cobourg, Ontario.

        He was a hardware merchant. In 1905, he became the President of the annual Cobourg Horse Show. He gave his heart and business ability to its promotion. He also served as the Justice of the Peace.

        He married Lynda Barbara McDougal (1861-1929). He died on September 11, 1938, in Northumberland, Ontario.
