History
Robert Bloomer Hare was born on October 27, 1845, in Ottawa, Ontario.
He studied arts and theology at the Victoria College of the University of Toronto (B.A., 1875). He continued his education at the University of Breslau, Germany where he studied natural sciences, paleontology, and geology (M.A., PhD., 1879).
In 1882, he married Frances Jane Graham (1855–1937). He died on September 22, 1885, in Guelph, Wellington, Ontario.
