        History

        F. J. Hackett was born in Milton, Québec, and received his medical training at Bishop's College Medical School. He taught anatomy at Bishop's University, and was a staff member at St. Jean de Dieu Hospital for many years. Hackett was closely associated with the foundation of the Western Hospital, and was secretary of the medical board. In addition, he was a consultant at St. Mary's Hospital.
