History

William Gray was a printer and newspaper owner who lived in Montreal. Born in Aberdeenshire on 12 August 1789, Gray migrated to Montreal in June of 1811. He founded the Montreal Herald and had printed the first issue of the newspaper by 19 October 1811. Gray died in Montreal on 28 February 1822.
