        History

        Dr. H. Grasett was a medical doctor practicing in Montreal in 1819. He was likely Henry Grasett, a British military surgeon, born in approximately 1774 in County Longford, Ireland. Grasett served in Malta and Gibraltar between 1800 and 1811. In 1814 he moved with his family to Quebec City. He retired from the military officially in 1825. Grasett was married to Ann Bligh Stevenson, and had 14 children with her, including Rev. Henry James Grasett and Dr. George Robert Grasett. Grasett died in Quebec City on 19 January 1843.
