        History

        Paul Godet was a Swiss naturalist, professor of natural history at the Neuchâtel Gymnasium, and director of the Neuchâtel Museum of Natural History. A prominent malacologist (expert in molluscs), he was a significant figure in Neuchâtel's scientific community, often associated with mentoring young naturalists, including Jean Piaget. Under his leadership, the museum faced challenges related to limited space and the heavy workload of its staff, who often acted as university professors.
