        Adolphus Fitz Clarence Elliot was born on September 2, 1836, in Corinna, Penobscot County, Maine.

        He was a physician. He served as a 2nd Lieutenant in Company A, 3rd Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War (1861-1865).

        In 1871, he married Sarah Jane "Jennie" Sheldon (1843–1888) and in 1890, he remarried Mary Hoar Holbrook (1851–1905). He died on April 26, 1901, in Los Angeles, California.
