History
Andrew Thomas Drummond was born on July 18, 1844, in Kingston, Ontario.
He received his B.A. degree from Queen's College. He developed an interest in geology and botany and was a large collector of specimens which he later donated to the college. In 1868, he received his degree of LL. B and decided on a profession of a barrister. He entered the law office of Sir Alexander Campbell in Kingston. After passing the bar, he practised in London, Ontario and later formed a firm Campbell & Drummond in Ottawa. About 1869 he moved to Montreal to engage in commercial pursuits. He became a director of Manitoba and North-Western Railway, the Montreal and Western Land Company and a trustee of Queen's University and Trafalgar Institute in Montreal. He was also an editor of the Record of Science and contributed articles on geology and botany to various scientific journals.
In 1881, he married Florence Catherine Wonham (1857–1933). He died on March 15, 1923, in Kingston, Ontario.
