History

French lyricist and producer Maurice Demay was active mainly in the late 1940s and the 1950s. Sometimes working under the pseudonym Maurice Baptissard, he was a prolific writer of lyrics for French songs, such as “Toi et moi” and “Nuit bleue.” In 1947 he co-produced a radio program entitled “Dans le champ des étoiles” whose participants included Jean Cocteau, Yves Montand and Josephine Baker. It was re-broadcast in 1948. He also co-produced, with Jean-Jacques Bloch, a 50-minute video about French author Tristan Bernard.
