        The lawyers Charles Peers Davidson (1841-1929), of Huntingdon, Ontario (McGill, B.A., 1863; M.A., 1867, B.C.L., 1873; D.C.L., 1875, an honorary LL.D., 1912), and Selkirk Cross of Montreal, Quebec (Oxford, B.A.; McGill, B.C.L., 1878), formed a legal firm Davidson & Cross in Montreal. The firm was active in the 1880s. When Cross’ nephew Alexander Selkirk Cross (1858-1919) joined them, the firm became Davidson, Cross & Cross.
