        History

        George Henry Frewen Dartnell was born on February 14, 1834, in Limerick, Ireland.

        He was a Canadian judge. He was educated in King’s College School in London, England. In 1850, he immigrated to Canada and was called to the Ontario bar in 1858. The same year he was appointed Master in Chancery in Whitby, Ontario. He became Junior Judge of the County Court of Ontario in 1873 and Senior Judge in 1896.

        In 1857, he married Louisa Maria Hawke (1835-1870). In 1873, he married Caroline Gross (1838-1902). He died on February 2, 1899, in Whitby, Ontario.
